New mattress on the way and the old one is still on the bed? We bag it, carry it down the stairs and haul it off, box spring and frame too. You get the price before we lift it.
What we haul
Any size, any kind, from any room
Spring, foam, hybrid or pillow-top. If you slept on it and you’re done with it, we take it, with whatever it sat on.

Clean, from bed to truck
Bagged before it touches your stairs
An old mattress carries years of dust, skin cells and sometimes worse. Dragging it bare down a hallway spreads all of that onto your walls and carpet. So every mattress we take out of a Wilmington home goes into a sealed plastic mattress bag in the bedroom, before it moves.
It matters even more if there’s a bed bug problem. Tell us when you call, and we’ll treat the pickup accordingly.

After pickup
Where old mattresses go
Mattresses are one of the bulkiest things in a landfill, so we look for a better option first.
Recycled when possible
When a recycler can take them, mattresses are broken down so the steel springs, foam and fabric can be reused.
Donated if nearly new
Most charities refuse used mattresses for hygiene reasons. A clean, nearly new one can sometimes still find a home.
Landfilled properly
Anything else goes to the Delaware Solid Waste Authority’s Cherry Island Landfill, not left behind a dumpster somewhere.
When people call us
New bed, move-out or rental turnover
The new mattress is coming. Not every delivery includes haul-away, and some charge for it or only take the same size. We clear the old one before the delivery truck shows up.
College move-out. End of the semester near the University of Delaware in Newark means a lot of mattresses, futons and cheap bed frames left in rentals. We clear houses and apartments fast between leases.
Rentals and short-term stays. Landlords and hosts replacing beds between guests call us to take the old ones the same day.
Moving. Don’t pay movers to haul a mattress you’re replacing anyway. We take it before moving day.
FAQ
Mattress removal questions
How much does mattress removal cost in Wilmington, DE?
A single mattress or box spring typically runs $75 to $130. A full bed, meaning mattress, box spring and frame, usually fills about a quarter of the truck, which runs $150 to $250. Several mattresses from a rental or a move-out are priced by truck space.
Will the city pick up my mattress?
Wilmington’s 311 special pick-up accepts mattresses as bulky items, but you have to get them to the curb and wait for the city’s schedule. If it’s a king coming down from the third floor, or you need it gone before the new one arrives, call us.
Can you take a mattress with bed bugs?
Yes, but tell us when you call. We seal it in a heavy mattress bag in the room before it goes down your stairs, so nothing drops along the way. Treat the room itself with a pest control company, since removing the mattress alone won’t solve the problem.
Do you donate used mattresses?
Rarely. Most charities won’t accept used mattresses for hygiene reasons. A nearly new mattress, clean and without stains, can sometimes find a home. The rest go to recycling when a recycler can take them, or to the landfill.
Do you take adjustable bed bases?
Yes. Adjustable bases are heavy and have motors and wiring, so they often come apart in two sections. The metal frame goes to scrap recycling.
Can you get a king mattress down a narrow rowhouse staircase?
Mattresses bend, box springs don’t. A king mattress usually folds enough to make the turn. A king box spring that won’t clear the stairwell gets cut down on site so it doesn’t scrape your walls.
